Frequently Asked Questions

  • AI can be useful for brainstorming, but it can’t capture your authentic voice or personal experiences. Admissions officers are becoming very skilled at spotting AI-generated content.

We help you uncover and express your own stories in a way that sounds unmistakably like you. Plus, we focus on teaching you real writing skills you’ll use in college and beyond, not just finishing one assignment.

We are really passionate about this, and we hope you are too.

  • We understand the differences between the two systems and have plenty of experience helping students from both countries.

Ann is based in the US and stays current with admissions trends, while Andrea is based in Australia and has worked extensively with Australian students applying overseas.

Together, we know how to translate your VCE, IB, or A-Level achievements into compelling stories that resonate with US admissions officers.

  • Every student is different, and we meet you where you are. Some students complete strong essays in 3–4 drafts, while others need 8–10 revisions.

Writing application essays takes time and the very best submissions require multiple drafts and edits and approximately 25 hours of coaching. We offer an essay-writing package that makes sure you get this part right.

  • Not at all. ESL students have powerful and unique stories to tell. We have a lot of experience helping international students highlight their strengths and perspectives.

We’ll work with you to make sure your voice comes through clearly while keeping the authenticity that makes your background a real asset.

  • “Fine” isn’t enough to stand out in a competitive applicant pool. We’ve worked with many students who were told their essays were adequate, only to find stronger stories and more compelling ways to tell them.

If you’re applying to selective schools, your essays need to be exceptional, not just acceptable.

  • The earlier you start, the better, but we’ve also helped students succeed on tight deadlines.

The most competitive students typically begin writing their applications 3–4 months before the deadline. We recommend this timeframe so you have time for reflection and multiple revisions.

We work around your schedule and across time zones, so whether you’re in Melbourne working late or in California having a weekend breakthrough, one of us will be there to help.
